Help find the “Naughty North Face Bandit!”

Right here in Mt. Airy--quaint little small town—my 12 year old’s North Face was stolen right out of her swim bag at our local health club. Unfortunately, her bag was not locked, nor was it inside a locker. Swim bags as you may know, are huge monstrosities so they don’t fit inside a locker. Many of the girls on the swim team throw their bags on top of the lockers.

OK, yes-we should lock up our valuables. But I have to tell you, when I’m out and about in my home town, the town I love, where everybody knows your name, I tend to get a little lax. I rarely lock my car, and I am obviously far too trusting. 

Our children are also comfortable in their town and typically do as we do. So I am guilty of not emphasizing that we must protect our valuables. And in this day and age, valuables for 10-16 year olds=Ugg Boots and North Face jackets. Hundreds of dollars!

Not unlike what we referred to as valuable when we were growing up. You can read my rant about Ugg boots and popular fads of the 1970’s on Want2Dish.com. 

I’d just like to know what kind of thug would do this at 8:30am on a busy Saturday morning at the most popular health club in town? Someone who wants a North Face jacket really badly, and most likely someone who is in that same age bracket. 

So I’m blogging this as a Mother on a mission—and we all know mothers on missions are dangerous. You see, this North Face was a gift to our 12 yr old for her birthday only last month. I want to find the person who stole this jacket. The police are on the case, and so am I.

In the mean time- lock up your valuables and don’t let your (child’s) North Face or your Ugg boots out of sight!
